JOB DESCRIPTION: TECHNOLOGY PROJECT ASSISTANT

SALARY SCHEDULE: NON-EXEMPT SCHEDULE 6

DEPARTMENT: TECHNOLOGY

FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

Position Summary

Responsible for managing the financial aspects of the Technology department including creating requestions, receiving invoices and ensuring payments are completed on time. This individual will coordinate IT functions, communicate with school sites and vendors and monitor progress of projects.

Qualification Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three years’ experience with school finances preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate with a professional yet friendly demeanor

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for IT department budget including:
    • Retrieving quotes for purchases
    • Creating requisitions/purchase orders
    • Receiving invoices
  • Coordinating CIO and Technology Director calendars
  • Communicate with sites regarding technology fines and fees
  • Coordinate IT department response to district growth
  • Assign incoming helpdesk tickets to appropriate IT department members
  • Communicate with vendors and stakeholders with ongoing IT department projects
  • Monitor the progress of ongoing IT projects and maintain documentation/completion of those projects.
  • Scheduling meetings/conferences for IT department members and ensuring all arrangements are made
  • Additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
