Open position in all True Media office locations including Kansas City, MO, Columbia, MO, St. Louis MO, and Minneapolis, MN; Hybrid work schedule: in office/remote.

We’re looking for a dedicated and personable account director to maintain client accounts and serve as our main point of contact. In this role, you are expected to guide clients and internal teams on effective digital media strategies based on up-to-date research and best practices. You must be an excellent communicator and effective leader who can supervise multiple programs and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, guiding projects from inception to completion, and ensuring the highest quality of service delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a drive for providing exceptional customer service. The ability to follow through on projects and maintain accountability is critical for this role. Account directors need to excel in negotiation and problem-solving.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities. (Other Duties May Be Assigned)

  • Serve as the main point of contact in all matters related to client concerns and needs
  • Build and strengthen client relationships to achieve long-term partnerships
  • Maintain accurate client records, keeping track of any contract updates and renewals
  • Work with sales and other internal teams to develop strategic marketing plans and ensure KPIs are being met
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our products and service offerings to better upsell and cross-sell to clients
  • Develop and manage statements of work that meet client needs, outline the agency's services and compensation, and minimize the agency's risk. Monitor account activity against the statement of work and alert the internal team about out-of-scope activity, and then manage scope changes or additional needed changes
  • Generate progress reports for clients and senior leaders within the organization
  • Handle inquiries and requests from customers and address their needs
  • Driving the end-to-end media process between the client and internal teams
  • Partnering closely with campaign management on campaign activation, trafficking, and optimizations
  • Owning communication and updates with clients and internal stakeholders regarding campaigns
  • Working closely with data analytics to ensure reporting accuracy
  • Sharing actionable insights and recommendations to support supplier's strategy and driving incremental revenue
  • Supporting / Overseeing monthly campaign billing, ensuring accuracy and delivery
  • Work with Sales professionals to develop proposals, provide deal evaluation, revisions, and follow-up
  • Collaborate on Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Maintain relationships, manage the day-to-day business with clients, and identify growth opportunities to drive additional revenue beyond the original contracted amount
  • Lead campaign kick-offs and performance discussions with clients
  • Deliver on all role-specific accountability metrics and goals

  • 8+ years’ experience in a client service/account management or digital media strategy and planning role, in a marketing or media agency setting
  • Ability to lead day-to-day relationships and work with management and multifunctional teams to respond to client needs
  • Experience in building media plan recommendations
  • Excellent follow-through and no hesitation in ensuring accountability across teams
  • Familiarity with analytics, advertising data / tech, and DMP technologies
  • Proven negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and desire to be a key individual contributor and strong team player
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills along with cross-company and partner collaboration skills
  • Ability to be clear, concise, and effective in communication
  • Capability to work proactively under pressure and handle multiple ad hoc requests
  • High level of comfort escalating and presenting key issues to management
  • Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, degree or concentration in advertising, marketing, or communications preferred
