JOB GOAL: The job of Administrative Assistant/Receptionist support is to provide administrative and office support to the Superintendent/Communication/Business Service departments by serving as a relief receptionist for the school district, handling all permits both internal and external and managing meeting space in the Central Office.
Essential Functions
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, staff, parents, students, and the general public.

Essential Functions
- Answer main district phone line in a business-like manner and provide professional response to all callers, on a-as needed basis.
- Manage calls in the appropriate manner, including: Forwarding calls to appropriate locations throughout the district Handle calls from parents, community members, vendors, etc., as appropriate.
- Schedules and organizes the Conference Room Scheduler for Central Office.
- Permits - internal and external: Responsible for the issuance of all building permits and facility use agreements for outside organizations. Notify KCKPS Police Department and the Shop for necessary personnel, collect fees and insurance certificates before each event for outside organizations
- Assist with Standard Response Protocol Communications as directed.
- Responsible for professional interactions with all staff members, as well as parents and other agency personnel.
- Handles confidential and non-routine information.
- Assists in sorting of incoming District mail.
- Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects. Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Professional ability to greet the public. Knowledge of all aspects of the district, in order to be able to route calls and inquiries appropriately.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, professional judgment, oral and written communication.
