Overview
American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) is an industry-leading battery metal and critical materials technology development and commercialization company. Our Pilot Plant just outside of Reno, Nevada will be the first integrated implementation of our multi-step processing train for the full mechanical processing, physical separation, chemical extraction, and production of commercial-scale battery metals that will be resold back into the battery manufacturing supply chain to enact a low-cost, low environmental impact, and domestically sourced closed-loop circular economy.
About The Job
As an Analytical Chemist, you will work with the Analytical Team on all facets of laboratory operations and chemical analyses to support the design and implementation of our proprietary lithium-ion battery recycling processes and primary resource extraction technologies. The ideal candidate will be familiar with good laboratory practice and have experience with sample preparation, sample tracking, and chemical analysis. The candidate must be able to follow standard operating procedures, generating reproducible and reliable results, and have attention to detail required for quality assurance/quality control when working with trace chemical analyses techniques. This position will report to the Director of Analytical Services.

About The Job

Responsibilities
- Perform tasks needed to maintain good laboratory hygiene, including cleaning of labware, instrumentation, and workspaces
- Perform routine laboratory tasks associated with sample preparation
- Assist with sample analysis and data processing
- Assist with lab and data management
Minium requirements
- B.S. in Applied Chemistry or related field
- Knowledge of both organic and inorganic analytical chemistry principles
- 1+ years of experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory including:
- Sample preparation including microwave and hot plate digestions
- Routine sample handling techniques for diluting, concentrating, and purifying samples
- Implementing sample tracking and data reporting in Laboratory Information Management Systems
- Understanding of analytical chemistry instrumentation
- ICP-OES, Ion Chromatograph, TOC analyzer
- Benchtop analytical instrumentation including titrators, pH and conductivity sensors
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, up to 6 hours/day or more
- Ability to move samples and materials (no more than 50 lbs in weight) from lab to lab
- Ability to wear PPE which includes, but not limited to long pants and closed toed shoes, lab coat, eye protection, hand and face protection, respirators
- Ability to work in an environment that may include exposure to dust, noise, and chemicals for an extended period
- Good manual dexterity for the use of common office and laboratory equipment
- Must have good vision, 20/20 or corrected vision
