About This Position
We are looking for a dynamic, energetic intern who is eager to learn about Waystar and the healthcare revenue cycle industry. The ideal candidate will be looking to enhance their career and expand their skill set. This unique experience will provide insight into a dynamic ever-changing and evolving industry, coupled with the opportunity to join a great company like Waystar.
As part of this internship experience, you will expand on your professional development skills as well as gain first-hand knowledge of a niche within the healthcare industry. Interns will assist the application engineering teams in driving Waystar's software and technology efforts by gathering requirements, attending sprint ceremonies, and developing software and automated tests. The intern will work closely with the application engineering manager and lead engineer to help the team achieve its goals.

As an intern, you will be like any other Application Engineer on the team. We expect you to design, develop, and test new features and enhancements on our platform. To do that, you will work with peers, Team Leads, Manager, Directors and the VP of Engineering along with the wider business to build web-scale products.

- JavaScript and jQuery
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Containers

- Jira, Confluence, and Git
Do you fit our team?
- 0 – 3 years’ experience
- Basic understanding of programming concepts
- Can code in one or more general purpose programming languages; C# and .NET programming languages are preferred
- Experience with SQL
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment & welcome change.
- Highly self-motivated
- Ability to work both in team and solo environments
