Overview

Are you a strategic, driven sales and marketing leader with a passion for delivering results and elevating guest experiences? Join us as the Area Director of Sales & Marketing, overseeing both Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, a Hilton Resort & Spa, and Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing area team, shape commercial strategies, and drive market share across two iconic coastal properties.

Responsibilities

As the Area Director of Sales & Marketing, you will:

  • Lead the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenue across all market segments.
  • Drive topline results through proactive sales efforts, brand positioning, and innovative marketing campaigns.
  • Build and lead a results-oriented team, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development.
  • Strengthen market presence by cultivating relationships with key clients, travel professionals, and agency partners.
  • Collaborate with revenue management and operations to align sales strategies with business goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of progressive hotel sales experience, preferably in full-service and resort environments
  • Proven ability to create and execute strategic Sales & Marketing Plans
  • Strong negotiation skills and contract interpretation expertise
  • Established relationships within the agency, corporate, and travel trade communities
  • Exceptional business communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and major hospitality sales CRM systems (e.g., Delphi, Salesforce)
  • Professional presence with the confidence to represent both properties in high-profile settings
