Job Summary
- Prepare materials or merchandise for assembly line production by reading provided tickets that identify materials needed; gather prescribed materials from stock using forklifts, hand trucks, and rolling carts.
- You will be responsible for assembling wood products, including interior and exterior doors, ensuring each piece meets quality standards and specifications. This role involves hands-on construction of millwork items using hand and power tools commonly used in woodworking.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble various millwork products such as exterior and interior door units, wooden patios, Dutch doors, casing, and window units by reading orders.
- Identify necessary modifications; operate machinery that modifies the product; prepare the product for shipment by applying casing, sleeves, stickers, etc.
- Inspect the overall quality of the assembled product throughout the assembly process.
- Repair and/or disassemble defective millwork to prepare it for resale or restock.
- Maintain a clear production area free of debris; properly store and secure work materials, hardware, tools, and equipment.
- Attend all safety trainings and meetings; comply with OSHA and agency safety policies.
- Perform routine maintenance on all tools used including: cleaning, oiling, checking to ensure proper functioning, calibrating machines, checking measuring tool accuracy, and notifying a supervisor of larger repairs or malfunctions.
- Willing and able to be cross-trained to handle all stations along the line.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience using common hand and power tools such as saws, drills, hammers, screwdrivers, and nail guns—especially in woodworking or door assembly
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, chop saws, door machines, and drills
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move 75–100 pounds
