Job Summary: Assistant Coordinator - Custodial Services
Are you passionate about creating a clean and safe environment for students, staff, and the community? We are seeking an Assistant Coordinator for our Custodial Services team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to train and supervise custodial employees, ensure compliance with standards, and collaborate with industry experts to maximize efficiency.
Responsibilities:- Design and conduct training programs for new custodial hires
- Assess and propose equipment needs for custodial and maintenance
- Inform new hires about workplace safety and policies
- Communicate and demonstrate housekeeping standards
- Establish sustainable housekeeping standards
- Set goals, observe performance, and assess custodians
- Inspect the quality of custodial work
- Collaborate with industry experts to improve housekeeping methods
- Perform evaluations for custodial staff
- Coordinate summer cleaning programs and district-wide trainings
- Maintain preventive maintenance standards
- Direct special services teams
- Assist in maintaining painting and carpet replacement schedule
- Screen, interview, and hire custodial team members
- Organize regular meetings with building engineers
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong planning, communication, and supervisory skills
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in housekeeping and facilities equipment management
- At least 5 years of management experience or relevant combination of education and experience
- Must be physically capable of performing custodial activities, working in confined spaces, and at heights
- Required licenses/certifications: First Class Boilers (Chief Boilers license within 3 years), CPO (within 1 year), EPA underground tank certification (preferred within 1 year)
- View salary grids in the Management Personnel I-M agreement
- Salary Range: $90,433 - $102,462
- Work Schedule: 225 workdays per year
- Full-time position
