The Challenge
We are hiring an Assistant District Engineer to join our Jacksonville District team serving Onslow and Pender counties.

In this role, you will:
⦁ Review and approve driveway permits, encroachment agreements, subdivision plans, and road additions.
⦁ Supervise Engineering Technicians, including distributing workloads, tracking of permits as they move through the review and approval process, and conducting performance evaluations.
⦁ Perform onsite inspections for NCDOT specifications compliance for driveway permits, encroachments, and subdivisions.
⦁ Perform field inspections.
⦁ Prepare deficiency letters related to road additions.

What You Bring
⦁ Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments.
⦁ Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems.
⦁ Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision.
⦁ Experience interpreting and communicating, verbally and in writing, details of plans, project documents, policies, and procedures.
⦁ Customer service experience related to solving problems involving explaining complicated engineering concepts to customer groups.

Note
⦁ We may require registration as a Professional Engineer by NC Board of Examiners for Engineers & Surveyors.

Education and Experience
⦁ Bachelor's degree in engineering; or
⦁ An equivalent combination of training and experience.
