Job Description

Position Summary: Primarily responsible for supporting the Tijuana Flats mission to provide the guest with fresh food and outstanding guest service in a friendly fun and exciting atmosphere.

General Purpose: Training and Development, Cost Controls and Profitability, Shift Management and Guest Satisfactions

Position Responsibilities

Training and development

  • Lead the team by communicating, coaching, motivating and building sales
  • Focus on both BOH and FOH to build a great team environment
  • Develop and execute plans that will move operations forward and deliver results
  • Work closely with trainers to ensure that training is being completed properly and consistently
  • Operate the restaurant according to the Mission and Core Values
  • Train and develop shit leads, and trainers.

Cost Controls and Profitability

  • Constant focus on labor cost, food cost, supply cost, and repair cost
  • Manger orders, put away deliveries, store and rotate to maintain organization
  • Manage cost control standard while maintaining high quality, presentation and guest satisfaction
  • Maintain proper levels of supplies (i.e. checklist, training packets, etc.)

Shift Management and Guest Satisfaction

  • Ensure that FOH employees are providing all guest with the highest standard of service
  • Ensure that BOH employees are providing all guest with the highest level of food quality
  • Make sure every shift is managed properly by using the operational tools (i.e. Lineups each shift, taste plates, Heat talks, opening, midday, and closing checklists, Manager red book, Build to books, etc.)
  • Ensure that cleanliness is maintained in all areas of the restaurant (i.e. dining room, kitchen, restrooms, etc)
  • Create an environment that is positive, productive and fun to work in

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of Management experience in food service industry
  • Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Management: Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
  • High performance teams and a strong team player
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to Company’s Core Values and Mission.

Reporting to this position: BOH and FOH employees for assigned restaurant

  • Physical demands: While performing duties of the job, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability o focus.
  • Work environment: Site work will require exposure to varying weather conditions and increase exposure to noise. Proper food handling procedures and safety precautions, such as cutting gloves, etc. will be required when handling product. Occasional ladder usage. Ability to work varied hours including nights and weekends.
