The University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) is seeking an Associate Athletic Trainer to join the Department of Athletics, Sports Medicine and Performance. This individual will report to the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Performance. The Associate Athletic Trainer will play a key role in providing comprehensive athletic training services to NCAA Division I student-athletes. Responsibilities include assessing injuries, developing treatment plans, conducting rehabilitation programs, and coordinating with physicians, coaches, sports performance staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the overall health, safety, and performance of student-athletes. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with talented student-athletes and contribute to their athletic success and well-being.

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field
  • Current certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an athletic trainer with collegiate athletes
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations regarding student-athlete health and safety
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
