Job Purpose

With final approval from Assistant Manager, leads the ideation, development, execution and delivery of social media organic and paid content for the Mary Kay US channels. Assists with the creation of content for digital advertising. The goal is to help increase Mary Kay’s brand awareness and contribute to business growth for Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage the content for US social media channels.
  • Oversee posting schedule of organic social media content on Facebook, Instagram, Instagram Stories, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Manage daily engagement on social media channels.
  • Concept and write all social media captions.
  • Work closely with the Creative Team to concept and execute social posts (photos, short-form videos, and long-form videos, and graphics).
  • Oversee video pre-production and write all video scripts and shot lists.
  • Own the production of all short-turn (TikTok or Reels) content.
  • Routinely conduct competitor research (beauty industry, Direct Selling industry, and others) and monitor social media trends.
  • Assist with content for paid social and digital ads.
  • Ideate and create content for the ads.
  • Work closely with multiple outside agencies to assure alignment on content creation, tone, voice, and deliverables.
  • Help prepare presentations. Assist with ad hoc projects, including PR/ Advertising-related ones. Attend off-site Mary Kay events at least twice per year.
  • This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Education – Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in Marketing, Online and/or Social Media Marketing, Journalism, or related field

Experience – Minimum of 2 years experience in Social Media, Digital Marketing, Content creation Advertising, Communications, Presentations, Business. Direct sales and / or beauty industry a plus.

  • Outstanding communication, writing skills, and grammar knowledge.
  • Understanding of next-Gen (Gen Z/Gen Alpha) content creation and voice on social media.
  • Must understand the art of trendsetting and must be a trendspotter.
  • Strong project management skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Adaptability to be able to work and pivot quickly from feedback.
  • Outstanding communication, writing skills, and grammar knowledge.
