Koalafi offers omnichannel financial products that help merchants and consumers succeed. They are seeking an Associate Software Engineer focused on front-end development to help build the next generation of customer financing interfaces while also contributing to back-end development when necessary.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain simple and scalable solutions to support Koalafi's Originations web apps and microservices
  • Collaborate with teammates to integrate new features into both front-end and back-end systems
  • Ensure system reliability by implementing robust testing, monitoring, and debugging processes
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality standards and share knowledge across the engineering team
  • Actively engage in scrum/agile processes, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily standups
  • Research and implement emerging technologies and best practices to improve system performance and customer experience


Qualification


Required

  • Four-year college degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Information Systems required
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience developing software applications
  • Proven ability to work on both back-end and front-end components
  • 2+ years of experience with modern web technologies (React, Vue, Angular)
  • Experience in UX from Accessibility to User behavior to responsive/adaptive web design
  • Knowledge of front-end best practices such as state management, component libraries, and performance optimizations
  • Knowledge of object-oriented and/or statically typed languages (Golang, Java, Node, Python, etc.)
  • Extensive experience in developing web based, enterprise applications and microservices
  • Understanding of HTTP/REST structure and operation for APIs/Orchestration
  • Knowledge of architecting and delivering applications in AWS
  • Skilled at performing research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products
  • Knowledge of scrum/agile software development process
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills with strong EQ
  • This position requires regular in-person attendance at our Richmond, VA Office. Candidates must already be located within a commutable distance, as relocation assistance is not available at this time
