Job Overview:

Reporting to the Body Shop Manager, the intern provides the best possible support by assisting with all aspects of body shop planning and all systemic functions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and implement small projects
• Read and interpret drawings
• Develop complex excel sheets and power point presentations
• Competent contact for external business partners
• Assist in manpower and process development
• Assist where needed by the department or other areas
• Assist in meetings
• Create and present status/result reports
  
  

Possible Projects:

Bottleneck analysis and troubleshooting in the Body Shop process Conduct analysis of spot welding process in relation to tip dress and cap change procedures. Develop a baseline for these processes. Calculate cycle time impacts over the course of an entire shift. Optimize the cycles for time and frequency. Develop cycle time reports to analyze overcycle conditions. Create drill down reports to analyze bottleneck stations and impacts due to vehicle variant impacts, tool change impacts, etc.

Qualifikationen

• Having graduated within the past 12 months or currently working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business or relevant degree is required to participate in the intern program.
• Analytical thinking, ability to work systematically and independently
• Ability to develop complex excel sheets and PowerPoint presentations

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assembly operations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers.

More than 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
