The Business Analyst plays a critical role in identifying and delivering AI-enhanced solutions across Nelnet. This individual will partner with business stakeholders to uncover efficiency opportunities, enhance accuracy, and improve the user experience by configuring no-code AI tools such as Microsoft Power Automate and Copilot Studio. Ideal candidates bring a strong analytical mindset, enthusiasm for learning AI technologies, and the ability to translate complex needs into scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate business systems, processes, and user needs to identify automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, business objectives, success metrics, and detailed solution requirements.
- Configure AI-enabled no-code solutions using tools like Microsoft Power Automate and Copilot Studio, with a growth mindset toward tool mastery.
- Lead requirements gathering, process mapping, and gap analysis to define current and future-state workflows.
- Contribute to solution design by proposing innovative use of AI technologies for optimization.
- Define and manage test cases, validate outputs, and summarize test outcomes for stakeholders.
- Monitor post-deployment performance of solutions, celebrate wins, and drive continuous refinement.
- Support change management and end-user adoption through training, documentation, and feedback loops.
- Act as liaison between business users, product teams, and technical stakeholders.
- Participate in team stand-ups, planning sessions, and knowledge-sharing forums to contribute to collective growth.
- 3+ years in a business analysis, process improvement, or technical solution delivery role.
- Experience identifying or implementing automation or AI-enhanced processes preferred.
- Hands-on exposure to no-code/low-code tools or demonstrated aptitude and interest in learning them.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess business problems and identify AI-enhanced solutions.
- Fast learner and natural innovator who thrives in ambiguous and evolving environments.
- Excellent communication skills; able to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience creating process maps, user stories, and functional specifications.
- High attention to detail, including edge case evaluation and exception handling.
- Familiarity with prompting and working alongside AI assistants or copilots (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) is desirable.
- Passion for emerging technology and a drive to become an internal expert in AI no-code platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio); experience with Power Platform is a bonus.
- Awareness of data privacy and security best practices when designing and deploying AI tools.
- Ability to define and monitor automation success metrics, including time savings, accuracy improvements, and ROI.
- Curious, self-driven learner who regularly explores AI trends and proposes innovative solutions.
