Overview
Quantum Research International, Inc. (Quantum) provides our national defense and federal civilian and industry customers with services and products in the following main areas: 1) Cybersecurity and Information Operations; 2) Space Operations and Control; 3) Aviation Systems; 4) Ground, Air and Missile Defense, and Fires Support Systems; 5) Intelligence Programs Support; 6) Experimentation and Test; 7) Program Management; and (8) Audio/Visual Technology Applications. Quantum's Corporate Office is located in Huntsville, AL, but Quantum actively hires for positions nationwide and internationally. We pride ourselves on providing high quality support to the U.S. Government and our Nation's Warfighters. In addition to our corporate office, we have physical locations in Aberdeen, MD, Colorado Springs, CO; Orlando and Crestview, FL; and Tupelo, MS.

Quantum Research International is a growing company, and we currently seeking a highly qualified individual reporting directly to our CEO. We're searching for a chief operating officer (COO) who has strong leadership skills and the ability to approach business with a creative point of view. The COO will lead our team of high-performing professionals to be efficient, productive, and effective. The ideal candidate has extensive experience within the defense industry, preferably having worked their way up to an executive role. We believe this trajectory helps a person develop a unique mix of business and management expertise, plus proficiency with the practices, policies, and procedures of our industry.

Objectives of this role
- Collaborate with CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operations strategy, and hiring levels
- Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning
- Collaborate closely with other Company executives to ensure that Business Unit Operations align with core company operations value chain alignment (VCA) including finance, accounting, legal, human resources, marketing, communications, growth, program management, information management, and security
- Oversee company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met
- Guide and support strategic business growth initiatives and coordinate business development manpower and financial resources as they are executed by the respective organizational entities
- Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention
- Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations, and take appropriate action when necessary
- Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement
- Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with CEO
- Manage capital investments and expenses aggressively to ensure that the company achieves targets for growth and profitability
- Monitor performance with tracking software and take corrective measures when necessary, and prepare detailed updates and forecasts
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
- Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
- Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly, foresee potential issues, select appropriate courses of action, and implement team-based response to mitigate those problems
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must possess a Security Clearance
- Defense Industry leadership and management experience
- Government and/or government contracts program management experience
- International business experience
