Essential Functions

  • Tracks incoming adoption packets from the initial assignment to completion
  • Follows up with CPA Specialists prior to the adoption assessment due date
  • Attends home visits to help assess the family for adoption
  • Helps collect and review documentation needed for adoptive family assessment
  • Reviews and edits draft adoptive family assessments
  • Completes adoptive family assessments for foster homes and adopt only families
  • Invoices the adoptive family assessments when completed and submitted
  • Researches websites for adopt only families to match children available for adoption
  • Provides crisis/on call services and 24 hour, 7 days a week support to assigned families
  • Maintains regular contact with supervisor
  • Requires the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Job may require the employee to be able to regularly drive to various DCCCA locations and other business locations throughout the day including early morning or evening hours

Education, Experience, and Licensure

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in human services field
  • Requires at least two years child welfare and/or family services experience with some adoption experience
  • Must possess a valid state Driver's License, in force automobile liability insurance, and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization's insurability standard as defined by DCCCA policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position

  • Requires overall computer knowledge and proficiency with the following:
  • Computerized database programs
  • Spreadsheet programs
  • Word processing programs
  • Requires the ability to efficiently operate office equipment such as:
  • Computerized e-mail systems
  • Calculators, copiers, fax machines
  • Telephones and voicemail systems
  • Effective listening, oral, and written communication skills, including face-to-face, on-site, in person discussions. Exercises appropriate use of positive language.
  • Regular and predictable on-site attendance.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft suite of products including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Travel

This position requires travel, which may include driving personal or company-owned vehicles. It may also include driving with other passengers in the vehicle, and/or driving as a passenger with other drivers. Note: Even with a valid driver's license, certain motor vehicle infractions may render individual's ineligible to drive company-owned or personal vehicles for company business. Such infractions may also disqualify employees from continued employment with DCCCA, Inc. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.
