Riverside Health is seeking a full-time Senior Childcare Manager to lead our dedicated team at the Riverside Child Development and Learning Center in Newport News, VA.

From music and movement to science and character education, we focus on holistic child development?and we?re looking for a leader who shares our vision.

The salary for this position is starting at $59,500 and higher commensurate with total experience.

Duties

  • What You?ll Do As our Senior Childcare Manager, you will:
  • Lead Operations: Ensure full compliance with all Virginia State Licensing, Health Department, and Fire Department regulations. Monitor updates to licensing standards and implement changes proactively.
  • Inspire and Support Staff: Coach, mentor, and evaluate a talented team of early childhood educators. Oversee classroom management practices and behavior strategies to maintain a nurturing, structured learning environment.
  • Engage Families: Act as the primary liaison for parent relations, address concerns thoughtfully, and ensure consistent communication that builds trust and transparency.
  • Manage Finances: Oversee the center?s financial performance, including budgeting, tuition, and account collections. Identify opportunities to maximize classroom capacity and support fundraising efforts.
  • Drive Quality and Innovation: Monitor and improve curriculum delivery. Stay informed on local and national trends in childcare and collaborate with community organizations to elevate service offerings.
  • Collaborate Strategically: Work alongside key Riverside stakeholders to promote and expand access to our childcare services both within the organization and in the community.

Requirements

  • Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor?s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Required)

Experience

  • Minimum of 3?4 years in an Early Childhood Program setting (Required)
  • At least 3?4 years in a supervisory or management role within a childcare program (Required)

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development and classroom planning
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools

  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC)
  • Certified Medication Administration Training (MAT) - Medical Home Plus Inc
  • Food Handlers Card (FH) - VA State - ANSI-approved Food Handlers certificate program
