As Compliance Assistant you are responsible for providing compliance support as well as monitoring and documenting compliance activities. Successful candidates will exhibit strong ethical judgment and manage the information flow by researching, recording, and analyzing data and information.
In the Compliance Assistant position, you will be responsible for assisting in the adherence of the bank’s operations, policies, and procedures to Federal and State laws and regulations. Specifically, this position ensures compliance with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and manages the HMDA software. The compliance department plays an important role at the bank, as they are responsible for everything from protecting individuals from fraud to shielding the business from regulatory action. You will work with the Compliance Officer to monitor and document compliance activities, track documentation related to new account opening, review OFAC and other software daily alerts, assist in conducting surprise audits, and assist the Internal Auditor with reconciliation of the bank’s official check accounts.

Frequently required to communicate with customers/clients about their account; must be able to exchange information in these situations. Occasionally required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, supplies, office machinery, etc. Occasionally required to move items up to 10 pounds.

Ability to maintain regular attendance and be punctual. Ability to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision. Ability to work and sustain attention with distractions and/or interruptions and multitask without loss of efficiency or accuracy. Ability to perform under stress. Ability to interact appropriately with a variety of individuals including customers/clients. Ability to perform in situations requiring speed and deadlines. Ability to work as an integral part of the team.
