Job Overview

Core Consulting Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Consultant/Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will conduct site inspections, assess construction defects, recommend repairs, research costs, and build comprehensive estimates. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough on-site inspections to identify construction defects and recommend appropriate repairs.
  • Review and analyze plans, specifications, and relevant project documents.
  • Research material, labor, and equipment costs to develop accurate estimates.
  • Create and populate detailed spreadsheets for cost analysis and reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders to provide technical findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare professional technical reports and written assessments.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure alignment between estimates and project execution.
  • Travel in-state to perform inspections and meet with clients as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, safety, and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of construction work experience, including estimation responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction practices and processes.
  • Hands-on field experience in construction.
  • Proficiency with Excel is required; familiarity with RS Means is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven technical writing ability.
  • Licensed General Contractor (GC) or Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) designation is a strong plus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel in-state for site inspections and client meetings.
