Description

Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a Courier Coordinator.

Location: Layton, UT

Hours: Fulltime

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Sort and distribute incoming mail accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare, seal, and count outgoing mail to ensure timely dispatch.
  • Conduct weekly safety inspections of the courier vehicle fleet.
  • Schedule routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes and tire rotations.
  • Deliver STAT labs promptly as needed to support patient care.
  • Perform quality assurance evaluations of courier routes, including periodic ride-alongs with drivers.
  • Train new and backup drivers, ensuring adherence to courier protocols and safety standards.
  • Maintain regular communication with laboratory leadership to monitor and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Serve as a backup driver for courier routes when necessary.
  • Coordinate coverage by backup drivers in the event of driver absences.
  • Manage scheduling for courier drivers, including PTO coverage and last-minute call-ins.
  • Provide support to drivers during unplanned or urgent situations.
  • Complete Parkway runs and random delivery requests as assigned.
  • Arrange annual registration and emissions testing for courier vehicles.
  • Keep leadership informed of any changes regarding driver onboarding or terminations.
  • Assist with snow removal at Layton A and Layton B locations during winter months.
  • Support facility cleanliness by helping with trash pick-up at Layton A and Layton B.

Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree preferred.

Experience

  • Willing to learn to perform basic maintenance projects
  • Ability to climb, lift, bend, and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds

Other Requirements

  • Possess valid Utah driver’s license.
  • Ability to work independently, quickly, and efficiently.
  • Customer-oriented work attitude.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job

Knowledge

Performance Requirements:

Abilities

  • The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
  • The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
