Summary

Working under the supervision of the Director of Compliance & Operations, the Data Coordinator oversees the operation of the organization's student data systems for the purpose of keeping systems current, operational, and efficient. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to student achievement, hold students and self to high expectations, and uphold Navigator school culture at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage student information systems (Infinite Campus) for the purpose of ensuring an effective and efficient student information system
  • Complete reporting requirements, including CALPADS, attendance reports, etc.
  • Set up and maintain student enrollment and registration
  • Set up and maintain new school year enrollment and rosters
  • Use a help desk ticket system to collect, track, and resolve issues and share solutions
  • Interpret state and federal mandates regarding data
  • Manages the student data collection specifically required for CALPADS
  • Work closely with with school site office staff for data collection and coordination
  • Implement data transformation and import/export between SIS and secondary data systems
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties (e.g., technology staff, educational leaders, state and/or federal agencies, etc.) for the purpose of providing and/or receiving information and ensuring project success
  • Set appropriate access rights for users based on district policies and security procedures
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops for the purpose of conveying and gathering information required to perform job functions
  • Prepare documentation (e.g., published standards, training materials) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing reference, and conveying information
  • Respond to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g., staff, administrators, school site staff, vendors, and service providers, etc) for the purpose of providing technical assistance, advice, and support
  • Serve as a technical resource for student information systems design, setup, and best practices for Navigator Schools
  • Train selected staff for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use new and/or existing student information systems and related software
  • Responsible for all timely SIS reports due to the districts, county, and state on time
  • Lead the setup of the SchoolMint lottery system, including validating priority for every family, scheduling lottery dates, and keeping Support Office and site leaders informed of lottery registration
  • Partner with the Chief Communications & Engagement to ensure each school has the proper sign-ups for all grade levels
  • Coordinate and conduct all lotteries every April, and ensure that they are compliant with each school’s Charter
  • Travel to school sites for trainings and professional development to attend and/or facilitate
  • Perform related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective function of the work unit
  • Updating dashboards as assigned
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director of Compliance & Operations

Qualifications

  • College degree or trade school certification, or years of experience that indicate knowledge and skills required by the position
  • Bilingual Spanish highly desirable
  • Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License
  • Successful clearance of hiring requirements, which includes, and not limited to: background check, Tuberculosis clearance, I-9 clearance
  • Friendly disposition, industrious, customer service oriented, able to multitask
  • Remains calm and able to listen to technology issues without judging the user's level of ability
  • Resourceful and a self-starter
  • Takes initiative
