Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, the Development Associate assists the Foundation team in a variety of ways to achieve the Foundation's annual fund-raising goals. Plans, develops, and implements fundraising projects to support leadership, designed to increase the visibility of the foundation and enhance giving to the organization.

The Development Associate supports the foundation fundraising and stewardship efforts which may include assisting with the creation of proposals, meeting briefings, managing goals, calendar management and timelines, developing meeting materials, managing calendars, running reports, gift processing, submitting reimbursement requests and grateful patient portfolio management as needed. Responsibilities may also include database management, database reporting and analytics.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and one year of experience which can include credit or noncredit internship or High School Diploma/GED and four years of experience assisting with nonprofit and/or fundraising programs or performing complex administrative functions. Demonstrated ability to use personal computers and various word processing and spreadsheet and software applications. Effective organizational, planning, communication, attention to detail, writing and interpersonal skills.

Preferred: Knowledge of Raiser's Edge software systems (including RENXT and Research Point).

Knowledge/Skills

Demonstrated excellence in oral and written skills. Ability to attend to detail and ensure accuracy of data. Understanding of and commitment to Roper St. Francis Foundation's mission. Demonstrated ability to use personal computers and various word processing and spreadsheet software applications. Effective organizational, planning, communication, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

Preferred: Knowledge of Raiser's Edge software systems (including RENXT and Research Point).

Other: Ability to work independently, but also function as part of a team and contribute to the goals of the full team. May be required to set up and attend Foundation events outside of normal working hours.

Contacts: patients, staff, physicians, co-workers, other departments within CAHS, donors, Board members, business leaders, vendors, families, elected officials, community leaders, founding partners, and all other related to fundraising program.

Work Demands/Environment

Frequent sitting. Frequently requires long periods of working at a computer. Intermittent walking, standing, stooping, bending. May require lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity. Constant talking or hearing. Must be able to communicate with donors and prospect by phone and mail to determine funding guidelines and most effective process to secure new or renewed funding. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. No exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Minimal potential exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Normal office environment with some exposure to outside environments. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, and/or irregular hours. Ability to read and comprehend. Travel may be required. Must maintain a professional appearance.
