Job Summary and Qualifications
The Patient Safety Director is responsible for facilitating the transition from a retrospective, reactive model for risk management to a prospective, proactive loss prevention, harm reducing patient safety program. Promotes a culture of safety. Directs others within the facility towards process improvements that support the elimination of medical/health care errors and other factors that contribute to unintended adverse patient outcomes. Initiates and oversees the development of a comprehensive patient safety improvement program inclusive of the analysis and trending of data. This position demonstrates a high degree of responsibility, accountability and autonomy.

What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, or related field Required
- Master’s Degree Preferred
- 3 years experience in a position dedicated to either Patient Safety, Risk, or Quality clinical education experience responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of clinical education programs Required
- 3 years bedside nursing experience in acute care setting Preferred
- Previous management experience Preferred
- RN with current Florida licensure Required
- Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS) Required
- If not already CPPS, must complete the following: CPPS Examination must be taken within 90 days of hire, CPPS Certification must be achieved within 12 months from date of hire
- CPHRM Required
- If not already CPHRM, must complete the following: CPHRM Examination must be taken within 90 days of hire, CPHRM Certification must be achieved within 12 months from date of hire
