As a Director of Park Operations, you'll provide leadership, direction and coordination of all operational aspects at Busch Gardens, Tampa, to include oversite of rides, shows, park cleanliness and arrival operations.

What You Get To Do

  • Act on behalf of the Vice President during their absence.
  • Provide strategic leadership and goal setting for a multi-faceted operations department including guest arrival, rides, shows and park quality
  • Work closely with the park Managers, Directors, and Vice Presidents to develop and execute plans to ensure Busch Gardens delivers a safe, high-quality guest and Ambassador experience.
  • Assist the Senior Leadership Team in working with all departments heads to achieve total facility results.
  • Assist Vice President with the development and planning of the annual operating budget and delivery of the financial performance for assigned areas.
  • Develop and implement short and long-term financial, team, and facility development plans for the assigned areas.
  • Assist the Vice President in the overall financial management and daily operation.
  • Provide training and leadership to the park operating team.
  • Ensure cross utilization of labor among parks or departments, supporting and encouraging synergy.

What It Takes To Succeed

  • 5 years experience leading teams within a theme park or hospitality environment with demonstrated success.
  • Self-starter, innovative thinker and able to work with a diverse group promoting teamwork.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and meet the needs of guests, ambassadors and other departments.
  • Goal oriented, highly motivated and adaptable to changing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large groups of people and grooming leaders.
  • Ability to manage and accomplish multiple projects at one time and follow through on long/short term goals.
  • Understanding of financial management, with the ability to manage significant budgets effectively.
  • Foster adaptability within your assigned work group/area. Lead by example in an ever-changing climate, be open and set the example for willingness to new ideas and opportunities.
  • Embrace and positively communicate change, always with a sense of urgency.

What Else Is Important

  • Must be comfortable with heights.
  • Position engages in walking/standing majority of shift.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and temperatures.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays and function as an park duty leader as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Possession of a valid state driver’s license required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Parkware, SAP, Kronos and scheduling preferred.
