Overview

MTF Biologics processes tissue grafts from human donors that are used in a growing array of clinical applications – positively affecting lives across the globe. As a global nonprofit organization that saves and heals lives by honoring donated gifts and serving patients, we collaborate with the medical, scientific, as well as organ and tissue donation communities.

Directs the activities and operations of the Technical Operations group. Directs the donor eligibility review process to ensure that the donors recovered meet the criteria set forth by the Medical Board of Trustees of the Foundation, along with industry standards and governmental regulations. Oversees the Donor Sourcing Model (DSM) operational process to identify, perform suitability assessments, and place donors to DSM processing partners. Liaise with Recovery Partners and other MTF Department to ensure optimal communications and resolve issues. Accountable for the development and oversight of departmental budget.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the donor eligibility donor chart review process and the collation, maintenance, and archival of all MTF donor records and information and assuring a smooth workflow and productive work environment. Duties include monitoring of key performance indicators to assure workgroup goals are achieved and there are sufficient donors to meet the planning and processing needs of MTF.
  • Oversees the activities of Donor Records and Case Management staff including but not limited to staffing, training and competency assessment, employee development, performance management, bonus/merit recommendations and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversees the Donor Sourcing Model operations process, including donor identification, eligibility review, and contract fulfillment for DSM processing partners. Includes interface with multiple MTF departments and contract DSM personnel to balance the donor needs of MTF and its processing partners.
  • Collaborates with the Medical Director and/or Associate Medical Directors at routine meetings, research projects and other special requests.to ensure donor chart process flow is maintained and donor criteria is current and applied uniformly.
  • Liaise between Technical Operations, Recovery Partners, and other MTF departments to improve communications and workflow processes and address issues and discrepancies in the donor eligibility review process.
  • Provide leadership, management, mentorship, feedback and guidance to Technical Ops managers and staff.
  • Collaborates with Compliance Manager to assure that policies and procedures are implemented and remain updated according to current governmental regulations, MTB standards, and MTF policies and practices.
  • Develop the annual budget for the department and ensures that assigned workgroups operate within their budget.
  • Subject matter expert in the donor eligibility chart review process and the point of contact for issue identification and resolution.
  • Implement Strategic Planning as directed by VP, Procurement.
  • Oversees projects as assigned to direct reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Management or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 10 years broad based experience in tissue donation with an emphasis on donor screening/eligibility processes and operations management
  • Minimum 7 years management experience
  • Strong work ethics and leadership skills
  • Open to and supportive of the ideas, issues, and needs of others.
  • Excellent organization with a demonstrated ability to plan, budget & manage a fast paced workload Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good collaboration skills and ability to motivate and influence others
  • Good technical writing skills
