Description

Salary range based on prior experience - $100,000 - $145,000

Role And Responsibilities

As the Electrical Design Manager at Kratos, you will lead a team of skilled engineers focused on controls, while actively contributing as a Controls Engineer. This is a leadership position that blends technical execution with team management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of controls-focused engineers within the Electrical group.
  • Deliver high-quality, accurate electrical engineering solutions on-time across assigned projects.
  • Own and maintain the ERP system and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) throughout project lifecycles.
  • Ensure your team adheres to engineering documentation standards, including accurate redline and as-built updates.
  • Drive team accountability through effective task delegation and oversight.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Engineering on hiring, performance management, and team development.
  • Train and support the professional growth of engineers within your team.
  • Coordinate closely with production personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Champion Code Orange, the Kratos creed to hold yourself and your team to a high standard of values and professionalism.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or similar work experience
  • Experience in CAD programs (EPLAN, AutoCAD 2D, SolidWorks, Inventor or otherwise)
  • Demonstrated understanding of electrical controls systems
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Demonstrated people-management skills including ability to train and develop engineering processes
  • 5+ years engineering experience
  • 1+ years leadership experience

Preferred Skills

  • Ladder logic programming experience
  • Experience developing and implementing control solutions and packages
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects to balance
  • Engineering experience in power and controls componentry, theory, and production
  • ERP experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of UL508A, UL891, Metal Clad Medium Voltage Switchgear
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • Prior leadership experience

The Company pays a portion of the employees individual health insurance, the employee is responsible to pay the remainder and other charges of eligible dependent additions.

Note: Benefit options, including plan options, providers, and the cost-to-employee may change annually during enrollment periods, it is up to the company which options are made available.

LIFE INSURANCE

The Company pays a life insurance premium for full-time employees of 10K. Employees have an option to opt-in to additional life insurance at an additional cost, covering up to $300K

401K

The Company matches up to 4%. You will be eligible as a regular full-time to contribute, subject to the eligibility requirements and other terms and conditions in accordance the group provider

COBRA

All governed regulations mandated by both, federal and state levels. Regulatory statues are followed by The Company and available disclosures are public and available for all employees to review

PAID TIME OFF (Vacation)

Employee will be eligible to use PTO after 60 days of employment. PTO will begin accruing on the employee’s first day. 80 hours of PTO prorated for the employees first year is typical. Unless otherwise specified in offer letter.

PERFORMANCE BONUS

You will be eligible to receive a discretionary (i.e., non-guaranteed) annual bonus based on personal and company performance and goals achieved.
