What does this role look like?
- As a Site Manager within our Electronics Packaging department, you will have responsibilities for electronics packaging development including mechanical design, stress and thermal analysis, and electronics and mechanical CAD (drawing development and release).
- You will lead a team of Avionics and RF electronics packaging engineers and develop internal customer relationships to ensure program commitments are established and met.
- You are a leader who is disciplined in project management principles, value-driven Systems Engineering and who is able to drive design evolution in a systematic and thoughtful way. You will be accountable for working with Program Managers and CAMs to execute electronics development efforts while properly balancing cost, schedule, and scope constraints.
- Execution accountability for electro-mechanical tasks across customer areas including Commercial, Civil, Military, and classified. Planning and oversight of assigned design efforts (to include Service Level Agreement creation and management).
- Scope of activities include all business phases: Capture, Non-recurring development, Recurring support, producibility improvements, troubleshooting, and post-delivery support.
- Production support (e.g. lead team to resolve hardware discrepancies such as Vendor Requests for Information/Changes, Quality Non-conformances or engineering drawing updates).
- Chairing weekly team meeting to discuss technical issues, schedule issues etc.
- Weekly status chart package and reporting to program and Central Engineering management.
- You will also have Functional Management responsibility for the execution team.
- Ensure Electro-Mechanical staffing needs are met across the Line of Business. Work closely with the LOB to establish and maintain an accurate forecast of Electro-Mechanical resource needs.
- Manage employee performance: Set expectations, provide coaching and mentoring, provide tools and training, deliver informal and formal performance feedback.
- Employee career development: Support the career development goals of your employees.
- Execution excellence: Process development, adherence, and data-driven continual improvement.
- Location: Although this position does support some teleworking; the selected candidate will need to be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Littleton CO, and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.
- While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.
