The program director is responsible for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program including the administration, organization and supervision of the educational program; the continuous quality review and improvement of the educational program; the long range planning and ongoing development of the program; the effectiveness of the program and have systems in place to demonstrate the effectiveness of the program; cooperative involvement with the EMS Medical Director; and have adequate controls to assure the quality of the delegated responsibilities

Minimum Education/Experience Minimum Qualifications: Possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education Possess current certifications for:
Five (5) years of work experience in healthcare
Experience must align with one of the two listed experience tracks:
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Educational knowledge and experience
Teaching and learning concepts and experience with adult learners
Demonstrated positive human relations and communication skills
Basic computer skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or similar software
Knowledge of flexible teaching styles to accommodate individual learning styles
Committed to helping students achieve their goals to be successful and attain a college education
Knowledge of or willingness to learn computer programs used in the department and on campus such as MineOnline and Moodle (or other learning management systems)
Organization and attention to detail
Support and willingness to teach in a competency-based instructional system
Ability to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers
Ability to work well as a team member in an instructional unit
Ability to communicate and articulate concepts in an organized manner both verbally and in writing
Ability to interact in an effective and encouraging manner with students individually and in groups, as well as with college partners and stakeholders
Ability to be available and provide means of communication with faculty, supervisor(s) and/or the department or division office
Physical Demands/Working Conditions Physical efforts described here are presentative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of office, course, lab, or clinical work. Primarily sedentary with intermittent standing, walking, bending and stooping; occasional light lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds; ability to work at a computer, including repetitive use of a computer keyboard, mouse and other control devises; ability to travel to a variety of locations on or off campus as needed to conduct college business Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience Minimum Qualifications: Possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education Possess current certifications for:
- Basic Life Support
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP)
- Must hold or be willing to obtain the Oklahoma EMS State Instructor License upon hire.
Five (5) years of work experience in healthcare
Experience must align with one of the two listed experience tracks:
- Paramedic Track:
- Current unencumbered NRP Credential.
- Two (2) years of field experience at the level of a paramedic.
- Administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current EMS Scope of Practice and EMS Educational Standards.
- Registered Nurse Track:
- Current unencumbered RN License.
- Two (2) years of Verified field experience in out-of-hospital emergency care.
- Administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current EMS Scope of Practice and EMS Educational Standards.

- 30 Credit hours of classroom teaching experience within a paramedic or nursing program at an accredited institution of higher education.
- Current unencumbered NRP Credential
- Current BCEN certification as:
- Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN), or
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), or
- Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse, or
- Certified Transport Registered Nurse (CTRN), or
- Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN)
