Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Execute analysis, design, test, and integration activities using sound engineering principles and business standards, practices, procedures and product/program requirements to deliver test cell controls solutions for GE Aerospace products.
Additional Responsibilities Include
- Evaluate the functional requirements and provide technical guidance to integrate various turboshaft and turbofan engine models with ground test cells
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical control system requirements of engine test cells
- Execute PLC/HMI programming and electrical design of test facility control systems
- Leverage experience with PLC/HMI software tools to modernize engine test cells, improve test quality and safety, increase automation, and be compliant with cyber-security requirements
- Manage electrical and controls aspects of test cell upgrades and digital projects, providing oversight on schedule, budget, and technical details
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues in production and development engine test
- Verify system operation through desktop simulation and lab/component tests
- Assure proper documentation and revision control of test cell configurations consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
- A minimum of 2 years of controls/electrical design experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- Experience with ProficyME and/or Cimplicity software
- Experience working in aircraft engine test facilities
- Experience with electrical schematics and electrical troubleshooting
- Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills
