DATTCO has an opening for a full-time Benefits Specialist in New Britain, CT. This is a full-time, on-site position and remote work is not available.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Open enrollment
  • Employee orientation
  • Heavy data entry (which includes payroll earnings and deduction code set-up)
  • Effectively answer routine phone calls, mail and fax inquiries
  • Tracking of required documents
  • Correspondence to employees about benefit eligibility
  • Providing clerical and administrative support
  • Participate in outings with vendors as needed
  • Leave management (FMLA Federal and State Regulations) tracking and data entry
  • Daily attendance at work is required - Hours 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday (overtime may be required occasionally based on business needs)

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2-year benefits experience and with some payroll knowledge (high-deductible plans, flex spending, HRA, etc.)
  • Human resource basic knowledge (i.e., FMLA, LOA, ACA)
  • Bi-lingual is a plus
  • Valid CT driver-s license
  • Reliability is a must
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, HRIS and Payroll systems.
  • Self-motivated
  • Detail-orientated
  • Ability to work within time constraints
  • Be able to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
