We value diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants from all walks of life, including the elderly, refugees, people with disabilities (both visible and invisible), LGBTQIA+ individuals, and veterans Here are the key responsibilities of the Assistant Coordinator role: - Design and deliver training programs for new custodial hires - Evaluate and propose necessary equipment for custodial and maintenance needs - Ensure workplace safety and inform new custodial hires about policies and procedures - Communicate and demonstrate housekeeping standards to the custodial staff - Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and maintain sustainable housekeeping standards - Set goals, observe performance, and assess the performance of custodians - Inspect the quality of custodial work to ensure it meets established standards - Conduct research and work with industry experts to improve housekeeping methods - Conduct performance evaluations for custodial staff - Coordinate summer cleaning programs and district-wide custodial staff trainings - Maintain facility mapping related to maintenance and upkeep - Implement and train custodial staff on preventive maintenance procedures - Direct special services teams, such as paint crew and carpet installation crew - Assist in maintaining painting and carpet replacement schedules - Screen, interview, and hire custodial team members - Organize regular meetings with building engineers for collaboration and staff development - Perform other duties as assigned Here are the qualifications we are looking for: - High school diploma or GED - Skills in planning, designing, and delivering training - Strong written and oral communication abilities - Supervisory, analytical, and problem-solving skills In addition to formal education, we require the following work experience: - Minimum of eight years of experience in housekeeping and facilities equipment management - Minimum of five years of management experience or a combination of relevant experience and a college degree Please note that this position requires physical ability, including working in confined spaces and at heights We also require the following licenses/certifications: - First Class Boilers, with a chief boilers license within three years - Certified Pool Operator (CPO) within one year - EPA underground tank certification within one year (preferred) The salary for this position falls within the range of $90,433 to $102,462, as outlined in our salary grids.
