Job Summary:

As the Assistant Coordinator of Custodial Services, you will be responsible for overseeing and training our custodial team, ensuring that our facilities are clean and well-maintained. Your role will also involve working with our operations management team and industry experts to optimize efficiency and protect our equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creating and conducting training for new custodial employees.
- Evaluating and recommending necessary equipment purchases for custodial and maintenance services.
- Ensuring all new custodial hires are informed about workplace safety and our policies and procedures.
- Teaching and reinforcing our housekeeping standards to building operations supervisors and engineers.
- Collaborating with the operations team to establish sustainable housekeeping practices.
- Setting goals, observing performance, and assessing the effectiveness of our custodial staff.
- Inspecting the quality of custodial work to ensure it meets our standards.
- Researching and implementing efficient housekeeping methods.
- Performing performance evaluations for custodial staff.
- Coordinating summer cleaning programs and district-wide trainings.
- Maintaining facility maps for maintenance purposes.
- Implementing and training staff on preventive maintenance procedures.
- Supervising specialized service teams (paint crew, carpet installation crew, etc.).
- Assisting in maintaining schedules for painting and carpet replacement.
- Participating in the hiring process for custodial team members.
- Maintaining regular communication and collaboration with building engineers.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
- Experience in designing and delivering training.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Supervisory, analytical, and assessment skills.
- Ability to collaborate and problem-solve effectively.
Required Work Experience in Addition to Formal Education/Training:
- A minimum of eight years of experience in housekeeping and facilities equipment management.
Required Supervisory Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience or a combination of college degree and relevant experience.
Physical requirements associated with the position:
- Must be capable of performing all custodial duties.
- Able to work in confined spaces and at heights.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Required licenses/certifications: First Class Boilers, with a chief boilers license within three years. CPO certification within one year. EPA underground tank certification preferred within one year.
Salary: Please refer to our salary grids on Pages 3 - 4, Section 1. of the Management Personnel I-M agreement
Salary Range: $90,433 - $102,462
Work schedule: 225 work days per year
Job type or FTE: Full-time
