seeking a field service professional to become the Field Service Technician for one of the top manufacturers of clean vehicle technologies in the US. to service our clients in West Texas.

This market is growing rapidly as more and more commercial fleets and vehicles are converting to Alternative Fuels; CNG, Hydrogen as well as wrestling with the challenge of fuel storage and vehicle integration of the next generation fuel storage technology. I need someone with a Strong background in pneumatic systems, high-pressure gas systems, and tractor-trailer chassis maintenance as well as an ASE certification.

As The Field Service Technician you will be responsible for conducting repairs and maintenance at both the customer's facility and the company's facility as needed. This flexibility ensures that service and support can be provided wherever necessary to meet the needs of our clients and maintain the highest levels of equipment functionality. The ability to travel and work in diverse environments is essential to this role.

LOCATION: This position is remote, preferably based in West Texas areas such as Middleton, or Odessa.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

This dynamic position requires the individual to have a strong background in automotive repair, exceptional diagnostic skills, and knowledge in alternative fuel technologies.

  • Troubleshooting or repair of Company products at Company's facility or at the customer's facility.
  • Assist with installation of Company products at Company's facility or at the customer's facility.
  • Assist with vehicle program service, warranty, and root cause determination.
  • Assist with vehicle or system development activities as required.
  • Prepare comprehensive and concise incident or test reports as required.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to customers or prototype vehicles.
  • Generate written procedures and reports for service activities as needed.
  • Validate instructions and procedures written by the service group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pneumatic Systems Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repair of pneumatic systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • High-Pressure Gas Systems: Safely manage and maintain high-pressure gas systems in accordance with industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Tractor-Trailer Chassis Maintenance: Perform maintenance and repairs on tractor-trailer chassis to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
  • ASE Certification: Maintain a valid ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) trade certification, as well as ASE alternative fuel certification, to demonstrate expertise in the field.
  • Diagnostic Proficiency: Utilize strong diagnostic skills to identify and troubleshoot issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Compliance: Adhere to and implement Quality Assurance Procedures (QAP) and Documented Work Instructions (DWI) within the Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS).
  • Safety: Prioritize safety in all aspects of work, ensuring all safety regulations are followed rigorously.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and explaining necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections in accordance with company standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in pneumatic systems, high-pressure gas systems, and tractor-trailer chassis maintenance.
  • Exceptional diagnostic skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Must be familiar with typical automotive repair shop best practices and procedures.
  • Proficiency in adhering to Quality Assurance Procedures (QAP) and Documented Work Instructions (DWI) within the Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Education And/or Experience

  • ASE alternative fuel certification or equivalent required.
  • ASE Trade Certification or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with/in a machine shop.
  • Preferred experience working with high-pressure gas and equipment.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Travel Requirements

  • Regular travel to customer facilities to perform on-site repairs and maintenance.
  • Occasional travel to Company's new facility in Wixom, MI facility for training, equipment servicing, and collaboration with the in-house team. Domestic and International travel is required.
