Knife River has an opening for a Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst!

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial concepts to support our financial planning and analysis activities. Works closely with management and operations personnel to perform ad-hoc analysis, annual plans and forecasting updates throughout the year.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• One to Three years of relevant work experience in financial analysis or a similar role but will consider recent graduates.
• Financial analysis experience in construction materials supply industry is preferred.
  
  

Duties And/or Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data and provide forecasting support.
• Prepare reports and projections based on financial data.
• Evaluate current and previous financial data.
• Study business and economic trends.
• Develop financial models that forecast business outcomes and profits.
• Assist in budgeting, variance analysis, and strategic planning processes.
• Collaborate with various departments to analyze financial data and performance.
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
• Prepares statistical data of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual financial results.
• Assists in the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Provides assistance and analysis on special projects or other financial activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Excellent analytical and financial skills.
• Microsoft Excel super user – ability to create and modify pivot tables, macros, etc.
• Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation abilities.
• Must be reliable and dependable during crucial accounting periods, i.e. month, quarter and year end close.
• Must maintain confidentiality of financial data.
• Must be adaptable and able to multitask and manage priorities in periods of peak volume.
• May require overtime from time to time to meet deadlines.
• Maintain composure under pressure and meet deadlines with great attention to detail and deliverables.
