Job Summary
The Girls Assistant Volleyball Coach at Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School supports the head coach in developing and maintaining a competitive volleyball program while fostering student-athlete growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship in alignment with the school’s mission and values.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices, drills, and game strategies
- Support coaching during games, including player rotations, skill development, and in-game adjustments
- Help monitor and develop student-athletes’ skills, discipline, and teamwork
- Promote sportsmanship, accountability, and respect among players
- Assist with organizing equipment, uniforms, and practice setup/cleanup
- Supervise athletes during practices, games, and team activities
- Ensure compliance with school, conference, and athletic association rules and policies
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff as needed
- Support off-season training, conditioning, and team development activities
Job Requirements
- High school diploma required; coaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, and strategies
- Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach, athletic staff, and administration
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes
- Availability for practices, games, and team events (including evenings and weekends)
- Must pass background check and complete required school/diocesan training
