The mission of Environment and Planning (E&P) at NYC Parks is to plan resilient and sustainable parks, public spaces, and recreational amenities, build a park system for present and future generations, and care for parks and public spaces.
This position will work within the Data Systems and Analytics team of the E&P division. The team is responsible for: creating and maintaining tools, applications, enterprise asset management systems, reports, and dashboards; conducting analytics to support forestry, natural resources and planning operations, management, and conservation; using data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making; and collaborating with stakeholders across the city.

Major Responsibilities
- Under general direction and with latitude for independent judgment and initiative, develop, maintain and collaborate on a portfolio of complex technical and analytical projects and applications.
- Develop GIS products and oversee projects for data collection and management from initiation to completion.
- Update datasets using ETL protocols and create scripts for analytical products using SQL/SSMS.
- Assist with the collection, storage, maintenance, and distribution of data to division stakeholders; create and manage metadata and related documentation including guides and manuals.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, maps, and other types of visualizations to communicate results of spatial and non-spatial data analysis.
- Provide technical, analytical, and project management support for the MS4 portfolio of projects and/ processes in order to ensure com-pliance with MS4 requirements.
- Use specialized domain knowledge of ESRI and geospatial applications to prepare maps, diagrams, and other data and analytical products for varying audiences through use of ArcMap, ArcPro, AGOL, ArcGIS Portal, ArcHydro and other applications within the ESRI suite.

- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
- An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.
- A master’s degree with major study in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, environmental sciences, ecology, forestry, com-puter science, and other related disciplines such as horticulture, landscape architecture or city planning. 2. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the local, state and federal MS4 program compliance requirements. 3. Extensive experience using the ESRI ArcGIS 10.x Suite and related computer systems (hardware and software). 4. Strong demonstrated knowledge of SQL, SQL Server, querying databases and related analytical methods. 5. Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills. 6. Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
