Description

A leading consulting firm based in Denver, Colorado, seeks a versatile and driven HR Generalist with payroll experience. As an integral part of our HR team, you will support the firm's diverse talent initiatives while handling payroll processing with precision and compliance. This role requires a strategic mindset to align HR practices with business objectives while fostering an employee-centric workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management:

  • Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Audit payroll data to verify employee hours, deductions, and benefits are accurately reflected.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by investigating and correcting errors, ensuring proper documentation.

HR Operations

  • Assist with talent acquisition, including crafting job descriptions, posting vacancies, and conducting initial candidate screening.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new hires to foster a smooth transition into the firm.
  • Address employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and recommend solutions to improve workplace satisfaction.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, managing enrollments, changes, and inquiries.

Compliance And Reporting

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including EEO, FMLA, ADA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Prepare reports on HR metrics and trends, providing insights to leadership for strategic decision-making.

Employee Development And Engagement

  • Support the design and delivery of training programs, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Assist in planning and executing employee engagement initiatives to maintain a positive company culture.

HR Systems Management

  • Maintain and optimize HRIS and payroll systems, ensuring data accuracy and security.
  • Support HR technology upgrades and system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience with a strong focus on payroll.
  • Experience in a consulting firm or professional services environment preferred.
  • Proficient in payroll software and HRIS systems.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is advantageous.
