Job Summary
The HR Coordinator will provide critical administrative and operational support to the HR Manager and the organization as a whole. This role will help ensure smooth execution of daily HR functions including onboarding, benefits administration, compliance tracking, and employee support across all Divisions. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with both office staff and field personnel in a fast-paced construction environment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
This position’s main duties will be in HR administration and data entry/management including, but not limited to the following:
Recruitment & Hiring Support
- Post job openings using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Coordinate interview scheduling and communication between candidates and hiring managers.
- Assist with resume screening and maintaining applicant data.
- Prepare and maintain updated job descriptions under the supervision of the HR Manager.
Onboarding & New Hire Processing
- Facilitate pre-employment requirements including background checks, drug screenings, and onboarding compliance documentation (e.g., E-Verify, state new hire reporting).
- Schedule and conduct onboarding meetings.
- Ensure accurate completion and storage of new hire paperwork and digital records.
- Coordinate benefits enrollment and communicate plan options to new hires.
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate personnel files and HRIS records.
- Update employee information such as job status, direct deposit updates, contact details, etc.
- Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, policy, and general HR inquiries.
- Assist with coordination of company vehicles, insurance tracking, and required driver documentation.
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Support benefits administration for new enrollments and life event changes.
- Partner with payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of benefit deductions and employee data changes.
Employee Engagement & Events
- Assist with planning and organizing employee events, training sessions, and compliance briefings.
- Support employee communication efforts related to HR programs and company-wide initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred, but not required
- 1-3 years of HR support experience is preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with HRIS systems – experience with Miter is a plus
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Reports To: Human Resources Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $50 - $65k with flexibility depending on experience
