Duties

  • You will identify efficiencies and makes recommendations to streamline the development of and delivery of primary prevention science perspectives in prevention planning.
  • You will assist with oversight aspects of the Integrated Primary Prevention Program for commands/units within AOR; applying strategic guidance to commands within AOR.
  • You will deliver presentations to leadership on command prevention efforts and impact.
  • You will coordinate with key command stakeholders on issues related to integrated prevention methodologies and practices.
  • You will performs other duties as assigned

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • You will be required to meet any applicable credentialing. This position is a subject to Initial credential requirement of DoD-approved Training (DoD) SP ARX Knowledge Training Parts 1 and 2).
  • The incumbent is subject to annual renewal requirement for IPPW Level 4, Prevention Program Leader, of30 hours approved continuing education annually.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

For GS 11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Applicant's Resume Must Demonstrate The Following Specialized Experience

  • Experience in evaluating, consulting and advising in a variety of settings in order to promote a healthy and resilient climate toward prevention of destructive/problematic behaviors to include suicide, sexual harassment/assault, substance misuse, and family/interperson/workplace violence.
  • Experience that demonstrates ability to identify, implement and evaluate prevention methodologies.
  • Experience in effective prevention program activities to prevent destructive/problematic behaviors and promote healthy climates.
  • Experience in leading collaborative efforts with diverse internal and external stakeholders and fost buy-in for crosscutting efforts.

Education

Basic Requirements

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

OR

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
