Position Overview

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist and Assistant Buyer to join our team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals eager to grow in purchasing, logistics, and inventory management. You will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, placing purchase orders, tracking stock movements, and facilitating communication between suppliers and internal departments.

This position offers significant room for advancement and the opportunity to work closely with sales, warehouse, production, and logistics teams, as well as domestic and international suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Analyze historical sales data and purchase trends to forecast demand.
  • Track inventory in the warehouse and coordinate stock adjustments.

Purchasing

  • Place accurate purchase orders under the guidance of the Head Buyer.
  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing and avoid overstock or shortages.
  • Liaise with domestic and overseas suppliers to manage order timelines.
  • Maintain import documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FSVP).

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Use Excel and similar tools to track inventory usage and forecast needs.
  • Analyze data to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams and suppliers to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • College degree preferred (business, supply chain, or related field).
  • 1-2 years of experience in administrative roles, inventory control, or purchasing.
  • Assistant buying experience is a plus.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong communication (written and verbal).
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and responsible.
  • Price-conscious with sound decision-making skills.
  • Eager to learn, grow, and collaborate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and other Office tools.
  • Familiarity with import procedures and FSVP is a bonus.
