The Jr. Quality Assurance Engineer will support the development and execution of test plans to ensure software quality and functionality. This position will collaborate cross-functionally to identify test requirements, isolate and report defects, and verify fixes.

Responsibilities
- Understand Software QA and Software development processes and methodologies - especially when working in an Agile environment with continuous integration/continuous delivery best practices.
- Understand best practices and improve current processes.
- Isolate, replicate and report defects and verify defect fixes.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other quality assurance engineers to identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan through the use of set quality assurance methodologies.
- Assist with the development, documentation, and maintenance of functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, test device, etc.
- Execute and evaluate manual and or automated test cases and report test results in a timely manner.
- Participate in test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
- Executes system testing, functional testing, negative testing, ad hoc testing, integration testing and database testing.
- Participate in user acceptance test tasks.
- Document workflow and work procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (equivalent work experience accepted).
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in Software (College experience accepted).
- Knowledge of QA practices.
- Work or school experience with SQL queries for reporting, data analysis and database testing using MySQL.
- Experience or understanding of operating within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience or understanding.
- Proficient with Black Box testing.
- Experience working with Jira or other TCMs.
- Experience or understanding of Linux and Linux command line. Or the ability to learn.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming practices and Model, View, Controller paradigm.
- Experience with programming languages and the ability to write/understand code (preferred languages but not required: PHP, Java, JavaScript, Python & Golang).
- Ability to learn how to debug and conduct merge reviews.
- Ability to learn to conduct root cause analysis.
- Experience or understanding of API testing using Postman.
- Prior Point-of-Sale (POS) experience from a support, QA and/or development side preferred but not required.
