The Opportunity
CACI is looking for a Junior Software Engineer with strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as a record of accomplishment in successful project execution and application development in support of the US Marine Corps.
Responsibilities
- Develop and/or recommend architectural or programmatic designs to meet mission user requirements.
- Coordinate with the project manager and program stakeholders on matters such as solution planning, requirements, design, development, testing, release, and maintenance.
- Responsible for application design, coding, unit testing, debugging and documentation.
- Actively participate in planning activities, artifact creation, development, testing, reviews, and demonstrations.
- Analyze, review, and rewrite applications to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
- Enact a security-first approach towards software development to minimize cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
- Analyze application-related problems and creating innovative solutions involving, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools, and solution components.
- Work with a team in an Agile Scrum environment.
Required:
- Must possess and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree and minimum two (2) plus years of related work experience in software engineering. Prefer Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Network Security, Information Systems or Computer Science. If no degree, then minimum of six (6) years of related experience in software engineering.
- Experience with DoD application software development using modern development languages (C#/.NET) and standardized RDBMS applications (T-SQL).
- Experience with Microsoft-based design and coding best practices.
- Experience following established Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and procedures.
- Strong collaboration and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Possess and maintain DoD 8570/8140 Cybersecurity Workforce IAT Level II or higher certification (ex. CompTIA Security+).
- Experience supporting USMC on software development projects.
- Familiarity with PowerBuilder code.
- Experience with static code analyzer tools and interpreting the results.
- Experience performing engineering activities such as technology research, evaluations, and assessments.
- Experience performing development-based STIG checks.
- Possess relevant IT certifications (Microsoft, etc.).
- Experience with DoD cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience with Agile Scrum.
