Aegis Chemical Solutions is searching for a Laboratory Technician for our Midland, TX facility. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for receiving, labeling, and analyzing samples. This position will report to the Laboratory Manager.

Description:

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for (including but not limited to):

• Performing Complete Water Analysis: preparation of samples to be ran on the ICP and IC instruments; records the data for each sample and transfers it into our database
• Solids and Millipore analysis- takes a raw sample that is brought in from the field and runs it through a series of steps to be analyzed
• Coupons are soaked in xylene, weighed, and results are entered into our database
• Residual testing includes each sample to be ran through a series of steps to determine if any chemical residual is left in the sample.
• Cold finger analysis consists of heating up oil to a certain temperature and putting the oil sample on “fingers” for 4 hours, then left to dry and later be weighed
• Prepares carryover samples, where the sample is mixed with hexane and then prepared to run on a Wilks IR instrument.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Biology preferred. Previous lab experience in the Production Chemical industry is a huge plus.

Data Input experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and deadline driven. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. An individual who can work independently with little to no supervision will be highly successful. A solid understanding and respect for HSE guidelines is a must.
