Job Overview

J.S. Paris Excavating, Inc. is hiring full-time Construction Laborers to join our Field Operations team! This is a hands-on role where you will assist with general labor tasks and operate small equipment such as rock trucks, rollers, compactors, skid steers, and more across a variety of commercial excavation projects.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Perform general construction labor duties on site development projects
• Operate small equipment such as rock trucks, rollers, compactors, skid steers, loaders, and other tools as needed
• Work safely and effectively on trenches and excavation sites
• Operate hand and power tools including cut saws, plate tampers, generators, water pumps, and other construction tools
• Assist with material handling, site clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Follow Supervisors' direction and contribute to crew productivity
• Adapt to working on multiple project locations across Northeast Ohio
  
  

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience working as a construction laborer or in outdoor labor is required
• Ability to safely operate or willingness to learn to operate small construction equipment (rock trucks, rollers, skid steers, etc.)
• Strong physical fitness and endurance to perform physically demanding work
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends as needed
• Team player with a commitment to safety and quality work
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in construction or related outdoor labor work preferred
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
• Ability to climb on and off equipment safely
• Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and work in all weather conditions
• Willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment
• Must comply with Drug-Free Workplace requirements and pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen
• High School diploma or GED preferred

Work Schedule

• Full-Time, Monday through Friday
• Frequent 50-hour work weeks including some Saturdays
• Overtime and weekend work as needed
• Hours may vary depending on project, location, and season

• Must have the ability to commute to Cleveland, OH 44109
