DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must have previous experience managing and running crews
  • Make daily pre-trip inspections of assigned truck and other assigned equipment.
  • Responsible for time keeping for the crew, recording all material usage, and recording accurate quantities of items installed, accurately and in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Be familiar with CSSC job numbers and projects.
  • Check in weekly with Operations Manager/Superintendent to go over jobs performed that week and discuss any questions, concerns, update on crew, etc. to assure you are handling the responsibilities assigned.
  • Ensure all material is prepped and loaded for the scheduled work
  • Discuss current job with crew and confirm that all employees have proper PPE needed for the scheduled work.
  • Always carry extra PPE in vehicle to assign, as needed, to laborers.
  • Correctly load and secure all loads
  • Drive assigned vehicle / equipment to and from job site
  • Make minor repairs to maintain equipment, as needed
  • Responsible for overall maintenance of assigned equipment
  • Manually load or unload equipment, materials or supplies or oversee employee performing this task.
  • Assist with layout of roadway markings
  • Perform and direct a roadway crew for preparation, including grinding, sealing, tape removal, or other operations as necessary and directed
  • Responsible for ensuring the work zone traffic control is safe and assigning properly certified flaggers as needed.
  • Oversee the cleaning and organizing of warehouse, shop, yard, office, and vehicles to maintain a clean, safe work environment
  • Must follow all company policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ensure all employees under your supervision are aware of and follow company policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Any other duties assigned as needed.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Must possess good interpersonal skills
  • Good communications skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to read and understand gauges and other indicators.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and offer solutions.
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math
  • Ability to manage time between two or more projects at one time.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and procedures
  • Possess ability to read a tape measure and plan documents
  • The ability to apply knowledge and skills to achieve intended results
  • Must successfully complete Traffic Control Technician certification training as assigned by the company.
  • Must hold current Forklift certification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid CDL driver’s license and Physical Card
  • Must meet the fleet policy driver eligibility requirements in order to be a company sanctioned driver
  • Must successfully complete First Aid, CPR, AED and Flagger certification training as assigned by the company.
  • Satisfactory background check
  • Available for on/call needs as requested
  • The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations
