WHY BOX NEEDS YOU

Artificial intelligence has been rapidly advancing in recent years, particularly in the area of generative AI. With the help of new large language models and massive amounts of data, AI systems are now able to understand and generate content on an unprecedented scale. Box AI is a brand new capability that was recently announced by Box to harness the power of these advanced AI models in the Box Content Cloud. Box AI will make it easier than ever to uncover and share insights, find timely answers to critical questions, and effortlessly create content based on an organization’s data in Box. As a founding machine learning engineer on the Box AI team, you will play a pivotal role in building out our AI platform that will power these capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to work on the bleeding edge of machine learning and generative AI to make significant impact on how billions of enterprise users get work done.

What You'll Do

  • Develop unique capabilities and applications using LLMs and other advanced machine learning techniques
  • Conduct experiments including A/B testing and evaluations to measure performance
  • Implement and optimize algorithms for improved accuracy, speed, and scalability
  • Analyze large-scale datasets for insights and improvement opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date with latest research in generative AI & ML; apply relevant techniques

Who You Are

  • Passionate about solving challenging ML problems through data-driven solutions
  • Ownership mindset with focus on delivering high-quality work both technically & collaboratively
  • Experience building, deploying and supporting scalable ML systems

Must Have Experience

  • Proficiency in python and Jupyter Notebooks
  • Familiarity with at least one object oriented language like C, C++, Java, Scala
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning ,Mathematics, Statistics, or a related
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, NumPy, pandas)
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling, data structures, and algorithms
  • 3+ years of industry experience in machine learning or related field

Nice To Have Experience

  • Masters Degree or PhD. in Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with a focus on machine learning
  • Familiarity with natural language processing, query understanding, and large language models
  • Familiarity with deep learning techniques and frameworks
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models, RAG, Agentic Frameworks like LangChain
  • Publications or contributions to the machine learning community
