Job Summary

Manage the research and outreach to potential clients based off of departmental sales and marketing targets. Conduct preliminary research and coordinate with Telamon Enterprise Ventures (TEV) marketing and lead generation services to develop databases to call or contact the prospects to qualify and gain access.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Sell assigned TEV goods and services
  • Call and create meeting opportunities
  • Identify new business opportunities; find and qualify new accounts and identify the right person to meet.
  • Works with President and VP of Sales to grow TEV’s market share by identifying opportunities to expand or add services with assigned customers
  • Maintains working knowledge of all products and services offered by the business unit
  • Partner with President and VP of Sales to generate sales and marketing initiatives
  • Create and/or maintain in house sales call and activity reports
  • Maintain currency with product, technology, market, and industry trends

Managerial Responsibility

  • This position has no direct reports.

Travel/Shift Requirements

  • This position requires up to 40% travel locally

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Skills And Abilities Required

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining robust communication with management related activities
  • Ability to effectively meet in-house customer's needs, build productive internal and external stakeholder relationships, and take responsibility for in-house customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively with prospects, customers and senior business leadership
  • Ability to escalate to the appropriate person, at the appropriate time, and in the appropriate manner
  • Ability to manage multiple parallel initiatives
  • Proficiency with basic office and sales management software
  • Frequent local/regional travel may be required.

Education And Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of public sector experience, state government experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of business development experience working with stakeholders and communities
  • Working knowledge of relevant clients, products, and services
  • Business experience relevant to the assigned accounts strongly preferred.
