The Training & Safety Manager is responsible for assisting Operations personnel with compliance of all training across the division and for the implementation and management of site-specific, comprehensive Health and Safety programs throughout assigned locations.

Job Summary
The Training & Safety Manager is responsible for assisting Operations personnel with compliance of all training across the division and for the implementation and management of site-specific, comprehensive Health and Safety programs throughout assigned locations.
Job Responsibilities
- Work to instill Zero4Life as the fundamental driver to an injury free workplace.
- Responsible for coordination of company training programs including classroom scheduling, course registration, participation tracking and reporting, data management, materials management, logistics, staff support, and assist with training facilitation as needed
- Organizes and develops training manuals and maintains reference library, ensures that training materials are kept up to date, prepare materials and deliver them in a timely manner to scheduled locations;
- Facilitates training programs, prepares and present new employee orientations, identifies opportunities for continuous training improvements and best practices
- Monitor and track training with accurate database of current and completed training activities by employee, prepare and present training status reports assist with tracking training costs (budgeting).
- Analyze training evaluations - enter data and provide analysis
- Responsible for physical setup of classrooms (i.e. ensuring adequate supplies are available for instructors and attendees, catering, and other support as required by the instructor or department managers)
- Identify best practices and develop and implement comprehensive, site-specific Health and Safety policies and procedures that drive a zero injury culture.
- Provide technical advice, coaching and guidance on Health and Safety training programs to address regulatory requirements and site-specific operational and safety concerns.
- Work with MSHA, OSHA and other pertinent federal and state regulatory agencies to manage regulatory compliance.
- Assist operations in conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis when incidents occur and ensure corrective actions are put in place to prevent recurrence.
- Manage injured employees through the transitional return to work process.
- Conduct periodic site audits and manage corrective actions for assigned sites.
- Participate in regional safety & health management systems audits and assist in follow up actions.
- Requires some work after normal business hours and on weekends, as well as ability to respond to emergency situations.
- 4-year degree and 3-5 years’ experience in health and safety management, operations management or other related position.
- Some experience in dealing with Industrial Hygiene issues a plus.
- Safety certifications (CSP, CIH, CMSP, etc.) a plus
- Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies such as OSHA, MSHA, and/or DOT. MSHA experience preferred.
- Comfortable in a training environment speaking in front of groups from various levels of the organization with ability to communicate with employees at all levels
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Capability to work extended hours as necessary
- Ability to participate in required overnight travel as necessary
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, and pulling to a significant degree
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of for frequently
- Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
