Site, Business, OR Functional Area Overview: The GE Aerospace facility in McAllen is one of our centers of expertise specializing in the repair of engine components used in commercial and military aircraft. These include LPT Nozzles, HPT Nozzles, and HPT Hangars. You’ll find state of the art technologies in CNC, EDM, and Coating as well as advanced technology development within our new Tech Lab.
Role Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer (Machining), you will utilize your expertise in machining processes to support business goals and programs for aircraft engine component repair. This role is on-site and involves managing and qualifying new and existing repairs, developing CNC machining programs, and driving process improvements to enhance robustness, efficiency, and productivity.

Role Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer (Machining), you will utilize your expertise in machining processes to support business goals and programs for aircraft engine component repair. This role is on-site and involves managing and qualifying new and existing repairs, developing CNC machining programs, and driving process improvements to enhance robustness, efficiency, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage machining processes for aircraft engine component repairs.
- Read and interpret part drawings, including geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software such as NX, Mastercam, and AutoCAD.
- Create and introduce CNC (3, 4, and 5-axis) machining programs, robotic systems, airflow, and EDM processes with metallography evaluations.
- Develop CMM programs and solutions for new and existing repairs.
- Manage assigned special processes, including audits to enhance robustness, efficiency, and productivity.
- Validate design specifications and shop floor applications for NPI, tools, and equipment.
- Create Request for Quotes (RFQ) for special tooling requests and conduct tool design reviews.
- Lead analytical and design activities using proven technologies and methods.
- Assist with training associates and operators.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Production Process and Equipment Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in machining programming.
- Ability to support off shifts and weekends as needed.
- Must meet U.S. export control requirements (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, national of the United States, asylee, or refugee).
- Must pass background and drug screening.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
- Proven analytical and organizational ability.
- This role may require occasional support for off shifts and weekends.
- Background and drug screening are mandatory.
- Physical requirements may include standing for extended periods and working in a manufacturing environment.
